Droidcon Moscow 2015: How it happened

September 25-27 in the office Mail Group held the largest Russian conference Android-developers Droidcon Moscow 2015. Unique business program, an exhibition of gadgets and DemoCamp brought to the event, more than 1000 representatives of mobile ecosystem, as well as more than 3,000 people watched the online broadcast of the first day on the official site.

The Organizers of Droidcon in Moscow was organized by Apps4All developing the Russian community of mobile developers, with the support of Google Developers Group and Mail.Ru Group.

A welcoming speech at the opening ceremony were made by Tobias von Hatne, the representative of the international conference Droidcon Global, and Alexander Vassiliev, co-founder and CEO Apps4All.

Business program Droidcon Moscow was divided into thematic units by day: Tech Day, Business Day, and Community Day.

The Involved foreign and Russian developers, experts, world renowned manufacturers of mobile devices such authoritative speakers: Alexey Kokin (Google Russia), Anton Krasun (Twitter), Michael Pechuk (Facebook), Dmitry Navosha (Sports.ru), Vsevolod Ivanov (Touch Instinct), Dmitry Ryzhkov (Intel), Cyril Kharkov (Mail.Ru Group), Denis Neklyudov (Google Developer Expert), Eugene Aldanov (J'son &Partners Consulting), Alin Jerpelea (Sony Mobile), Jalil Akbashev (Redmadrobot), Naoyuki Hirai (Sony Visual Products Inc.), Royi Benyossef (Google Developer Expert), Alexander Belotserkovsky (Microsoft), Dmitry Yunitsky (Mail.Ru Group), and others. All participants listened to presentations by more than 50 speakers.

Droidcon Participants discussed the novelties of the Android platform, wearable devices, syncing with cloud platforms, IOT, the development of the design and architecture of software and applications, the advantages of Android TV, augmented reality and Open API.

Experts have shared the secrets of success in Google Play, told about the peculiarities of analysts to developers and ways to enhance the appeal of your app with versions for Android Wear.

The three winners of the DemoCamp headed Aerotaxi (Andrey Azarov), Memento Database (Vasiliy Egorov), TAU Platform (Dmitry Soldatenkov). The company Apps4All awarded the winner the opportunity to present the product at the conference Droidcon San Francisco 2016 in the framework of the exhibition area.

Among the participants DemoCamp was lots of strong projects, so we are very pleased that the experts have appreciated our service and presentation. During the second and third day, the exhibition of technologies and gadgets from leading IT corporations. Intel has introduced a new tool for developing cross-platform applications in Java Intel Multi-OS Engine, and a new tablet: ZenPad C7.0 from Asus based on the Intel Atom x3 (codename SoFIA) and Venue 8 7000 Series from Dell with the Intel RealSense camera.

"For us the conference was very productive: high interest in the new product Multi-OS engine, the interesting discussions at the stand and make useful contacts. Pleased that the participants showed a keen interest not only to the tools for developing mobile applications, but also to the theme of the Internet of things. At the booth of Epson visitors were able to try out gaming with augmented reality and enjoy the 3D content in binocular transparent video glasses Moverio BT-200.

On the Sony stand equipped with TVs based on Android TV was demonstrated voice search, GoogleCast, and other features of a new type of devices and the Google Play Store with apps adapted to the big screen. Conference participants could get acquainted with available on BRAVIA games, utilities, and video services.

Representatives of the OneAPI told the visitors the benefits of cloud Telecom platform that allows to automate reception and sending SMS, cloud telephony designer and receive payments for developers.

The Company Voximplant at the stand demonstrated the capabilities of cloud telephony for Android devices: webrtc, react native, video conferencing, integration with Telecom operators.

The Company Car4G – manufacturer of "smart" automotive electronics in Russia – presented multimedia car system in the Green robot as well as automotive services and accessories.

3D.RU visitors were amazed at the stand of unusual statues, printed on a 3D printer. Figures of people, characters from cartoons and games, architectural models, designer shoes are examples of the work of specialists, presented at the exhibition. Everyone could take with them printed on a 3D printer keychain with a figurine of Android.

The event was held drawing of prizes and gifts from partners of Droidcon Moscow 2015.
